I probably should have explained that the photo in the original post was taken with a 2.5lb weight on the top of the pole and the pole tipped over to show as much bend as possible. Here's a photo I took this afternoon with my G11 on a fairly windy day. Almost no bend at all. To compare, the Wonderpole is much stiffer than any painter's pole I've seen at 21 feet. My Hastings hotstick is a little stiffer at 21 feet than the Wonderpole at 21 feet (full extention). My Hastings fully extended to 30 feet sways more than the Wonderpole at it's 21 foot full extension.
The Hastings is a beast and one is taking some serious risk at and above 30 feet. Using this Wonderpole limits one to 21 feet and the added weight at the base mitigates that risk to a manageable level. You still have to be aware of your surroundings, but the risk of losing control is much lower.

I recently got the chance to evaluate a 21 foot Wonder Pole®. I wanted to give you my impression of this product in a pole aerial photography (PAP) application. Forgive me if I start sounding like a commercial because I could easily produce a Wonder Pole PAP commercial.I’ve developed several handheld PAP systems over the years using many different types of poles and techniques. Though I believe each pole has it’s own strengths and weaknesses, I wanted to give you my impression of the Wonder Pole for use as a PAP rig.
First off, the coolest part about this pole is that it’s black (Also available in white). Black just looks cool and professional when used as a piece of photographic equipment. And we know that perception is reality to the client. Additionally black will minimize the necessity to clone out the accidental reflection.
Now the use. The Wonder Pole comes with a weight boot from Polepixie which holds an ankle weight at the bottom of the pole. I put a 10lb ankle weight on the base of the pole and my 2.5lb D5000 on the top. This allowed me to extend the pole horizontally and walk it up. Without the base weight, the bottom of the pole would come off the ground before I could get close enough to the base to control the pole. With the base weight I am assured to have control of the pole over the entire range of motion.
I have determined from taking many many elevated photos, that 15 to 20 feet seems to be the optimum height for the best shots of most properties. Though I have taller poles, I seldom get great shots above the 20 foot height. This makes the 21 foot Wonder Pole well suited for serious PAP photographer.
Shorter poles are easier to control and transport with the restriction of limited height, while poles above 30 feet increase risk, complexity and cost exponentially. Collapsed, the 21 foot Wonder Pole is 5 feet and extends in six sections. The converter mates with the original Pole Pixie and I like to add the tilt mount which comes with a quick release plate. Additionally the spike kit provides a heavy duty rubber foot which converts easily and quickly to a metal spike for use on soft sloping terrain. Though Polepixie supplies several more accessories, this is the configuration I used in the evaluation.
With the 2.5lb load, the Wonder Pole does flex, but is more rigid than a painter’s pole of the same height. Control is positive and predictable. It’s an easy pole to get used to.
If you need more height and are willing to take on the added undesirable traits of taller poles, Wonder Pole makes 30ft and 40ft versions. Just keep in mind that a 10lb weight at the base of these taller poles may not be enough. Regardless of which pole you may settle on, please read the safety page at PolePixie before conduction any kind of PAP.

SPECIFICATIONS:The Wonder Pole is circumferentially wrapped for superior strength and to 
eliminate cracking. Ordinary fiberglass poles can develop cracks that continue to split upward until the entire pole fails. Just like a crack in the windshield keeps enlarging until it is through the entire glass.
The Wonder Pole® is a composite material. We use a minimum fiberglass content of 70% which is then circular wound with additional fiberglass strands, using a trade secret method that adds tremendous strength, (excess of 75,000 psi) and prevents linear splitting commonly associated with other fiberglass poles. UV inhibitors are added to prevent degradation of the pole when exposed to the elements.
Each section of the pole is wrapped with two layers of the highest quality Nexus® veil which prevents fiber bloom 
(slivers in your hand), and preserves the integrity of the outer and inner surface of the Wonder Pole®. The pole has nesting sections that fit inside of each other, and draw out to any desired height. Each section has our exclusive "stop markers" to prevent extending the pole too far. The sections are secured into place by turning the Sure Lock Grips™ that are factory molded onto the pole.
We do not use glue or rivets, which come loose, to keep the handles or fittings on the pole. The Wonder Pole® is non conductive, and does not have any of the electrical hazards commonly associated with metal poles. You can replace any part of the pole or add to the Wonder Pole® at any time. Add to this the low weight, superior strength, available accessories, styles, models, and colors available, and you have the best telescopic pole in the world today.

B. Jacobs - "I use the pole on lightly breezy days, it's pretty rigid for a 40' pole. I push on the pole to counteract the wind, which helps to stabilize the camera. But I will start using guying for better stability and to be able to take night shots. Without guying, there is no way to take night shots."
